There’s no doubt in my mind that this is the best recipe for chocolate peanut butter frosting. I’ve tried numerous recipes but none come close to this one. You’re going to want to make a double batch of this chocolate peanut butter frosting because you’ll be eating it by the spoonful. My boyfriend loves this recipe so much. One of the first times I made this chocolate peanut butter frosting my boyfriend spread a huge spoonful over two slices of bread and ate it like a sandwich. It really kind of grosses me out thinking about eating frosting on bread, but I guess that’s just proof of how really good it is. I really wish I could take credit for this amazing frosting recipe, but it actually came from a family friend. There’s just something about the chocolate peanut butter combination that really gets me. The balance between the two flavors in this chocolate peanut butter frosting recipe is perfect.
If the frosting is a little hard to spread try adding a little less peanut butter to the recipe. If you already added all of the peanut butter into the bowl you can soften the frosting by microwaving it for a couple of seconds. The frosting thickens as it cools so don’t be shocked by the change in consistency. I probably won’t use this on a layer cake as it is a very heavy frosting. It would be perfect for a sheet cake though. I have used this frosting on a layer cake but it does slide off the longer it sits. If you insist on a layer cake just make sure you eat it right away 🙂
Make this recipe once and you’ll be asked to make it over and over again. The peanut butter and chocolate lovers in your life will love you even more if you make this frosting. I have a recipe coming soon involving this amazing chocolate peanut butter frosting so stay tuned 😉
